Our kindergarten is a private kindergarten, accredited by the Ministery of Education in 2012, as a pre-school level of Varlaam Mitropolitul Secondary School, governed by the spiritual patronage of Moldova and Bucovina Metropolitan Church. The headquarters are located in a central area of Iasi, on Costache Negri 48 Street, next to Sf.Sava Church in a building that previously was known as Sf Sava College and The Vocational School for Girls.
Continuing the tradition of the location, the Metropolitan Church of Moldova and Bucovina restored and modernized this building, in which the kindergarten had been functioning since 2006. The wide and light rooms, the playground and the park all reflect the image of a space evocative of safety, joy and peace.
Our school headquarters are located in a central quiet neighbourhood in Iași.It is surrounded by a dendrological park with centuries-old trees that allow for numerous outdoor activities.
The building, mostly known by the name Palatul Sturdza, is in Copou –
Strada Lascăr Catargi, nr. 33.
The spaces in the building are ample, tall, with a lot of natural light, allowing for an optimal usage of amenities during the educational process.
The palace was built in neoclassic style in 1850, being purchased in 1919 by the princess Olga Sturdza for the National Orthodox Society of Women in Romania – the Iaşi branch.
Starting from 1940 the building hosted the Orthodox Girls High-School. After 1990, it hosted the territorial TVR Studio and Radio Iaşi Studio.

In 2004, the Metropolitan Church of Moldova and Bucovina re-entered in possession of the palace and initiated ample renovation works, aiming to ground an excellence school, based on Christian principles.
Throught this school, the Metropolitan church wishes to get more involved into social life and be closer to the needs of the community of Iasi. 50 years after being closed down, the School of Palace Sturdza comes back to life, as a testimony to God’s work throughout history.
The bold vision of Varlaam, important scholar and cleric of the 17th century – of founding the first superior school of Moldova in 1640, inspired us in choosing him as our guide and spiritual representative of this school.
Varlaam Secondary School has wide classrooms, supplied with laptop, video projector and screen, which reflects the image of a place where your child will feel protected and encouraged to walk along the paths of knowledge.
